Sydecar is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead one of our core product engineering teams. This role blends strong technical leadership with people management to build high-performing teams and deliver exceptional user experiences in a fast-moving, product-led environment.

You will own critical initiatives, drive strategy, and ship meaningful product outcomes from San Francisco or New York City with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of engineering management experience in fast-moving, product-led environments.
• 8 or more years of hands‑on software engineering experience, with the ability to support technical design and strategy.
• A track record of leading teams that have shipped meaningful, high‑impact product work.
• Startup or high‑growth experience—you've been part of a venture-backed startup or fast‑scaling company.

Responsibilities

• Own business-critical initiatives by partnering with Product and Design to define and deliver work that creates real user and business value.
• Translate company strategy into clear, actionable technical plans with measurable outcomes.
• Prioritize the highest-impact work and create focus within the team even when goals are evolving.
• Lead effectively in ambiguity by structuring complex problem spaces and creating alignment around what matters most.
• Guide architectural thinking and support strong technical decisions without becoming a bottleneck.
