Sargent & Lundy seeks an MBA/engineering-focused intern for the Strategic Advisory Services group, supporting utilities, project developers, and investors in energy infrastructure, markets, and transactions. You will contribute to due diligence, financial modeling, and strategic analyses while collaborating with senior consultants.

The role emphasizes Excel-based modeling, market research, and client-ready deliverables in a hybrid in-office setting, start date in summer 2027, with qualifications

Qualifications

• MBA candidates should have completed the first year of their program by the start of the summer 2027 internship.
• Rising seniors pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field may be considered.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0; strong interpersonal, analytical and written communication skills; proficient in MS Office; able to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Support due diligence and strategic assessments for power and energy infrastructure projects, including market, commercial, technical, and financial analyses.
• Build and maintain financial models and analyses for business cases, capital investments, project development, asset transactions, and strategic planning.
• Research energy markets, power generation technologies, battery energy storage, transmission, and other energy infrastructure topics.
• Evaluate project economics, risks, opportunities, alternatives, and key assumptions, and synthesize findings into client-ready materials.
• Support proposals, presentations, executive briefings, white papers, and other Consulting deliverables.
• Organize and analyze client and project data using Excel and other analytical tools, and collaborate with subject matter experts to communicate results to clients.
