Job summary

Prudential, a leading financial services institution, is seeking a Manager, Employee Relations to support PGIM’s asset management business in a hybrid Newark, NJ setting. You will guide People Business Leaders and management on performance coaching, discipline, and policy interpretation while mitigating risk.

You will conduct thorough HR investigations, advise on employment law issues, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, fair human resource practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of HR experience in a corporate environment, including ER investigations and coaching leaders.
• Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, state paid sick leave).
• Superior relationship management and collaboration skills with business partners.
• Independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to deliver tough messages respectfully.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Be an objective advisor for PBLs, employees and management.
• Partner with management on performance counseling, attendance counseling, policy violations and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct prompt HR investigations and document findings thoroughly.
• Provide guidance on employment issues and related laws including disability, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and state laws.
• Collaborate with Employment Law and Leave teams to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and company policy.
• Assist in development, implementation or rollout of new policies or state/local laws.
• Support management at employee meetings on performance, attendance and conduct terminations.
• Maintain thorough documentation in ER COE case management tools.
• Provide guidance to employees and managers to resolve HR issues and conflicts.
• Analyze case data to identify trends and insights for leadership.
• Participate in and/or lead ER COE projects or workstreams to enhance COE value.
• Represent the ER CoE on projects or committees within People Team or business initiatives.
