DEKALB PUBLIC HEALTH is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Training and Exercise Coordinator to join the Emergency Preparedness division at Richardson Health Center in DeKalb County, GA. This full-time role oversees training and exercise activities, maintains NIMS records, and coordinates with partners to strengthen community resilience.

The position includes developing schedules, facilitating exercises, producing after-action reports, and ensuring compliance with preparedness requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience providing educational, training, or instructional services.
• Alternative: One (1) year of experience at Training & Development Specialist 2 level.

Responsibilities

• Assess emergency preparedness training needs and identify gaps across the public health district.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule exercises to assess plans, procedures, and capabilities.
• Develop training schedules for district staff and partners and maintain documentation.
• Facilitate exercises and coordinate participation by internal staff and external partners.
• Prepare after-action reports and improvement plans based on outcomes.
• Maintain NIMS training records and communicate plan changes to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with leadership and partners to strengthen preparedness capabilities.
