Job summary

DeKalb Health is seeking an Emergency Management professional to support the County's Emergency Management Program. The role involves coordinating preparedness education, developing and implementing the plan, and maintaining relationships with county and city agencies and the public.

The ideal candidate has experience in emergency management or public safety, a high school diploma or equivalent, and may hold an Associate's degree or related certifications with 24 months to pursue Emergency

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency management or public safety required.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates Degree in Emergency Management, Business or Public Administration or related field preferred.
• Complete additional training toward Emergency Manager Certification within 24 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist in activation and coordination of the Emergency Operations Center during weather-related disasters and other emergencies.
• Assist in directing emergency management activities including risk assessment and early warning systems.
• Coordinate with agencies to establish evacuation corridors and emergency support functions.
• Provide secondary supervision in coordinating disaster responses and exercises.
• Assist in training community and agencies per HSEEP standards.
• Assist in exercise design and scheduling and provide support through the process.
