Job summary

Essentia Health in West Duluth is seeking a Patient Access Representative/Patient Scheduler to greet patients, collect demographics and financial information, and facilitate registration and scheduling for upcoming appointments.

The role supports interactions with patients, Virtual Patient Registration Representatives, and the clinical team, with a 0.6 FTE workload and a possible remote or hybrid arrangement; compensation is hourly with a full range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler preferred.
• FTE 0.6 with possible remote/hybrid option and shift rotation.
• Weekend and holiday coverage as required.
• Compensation range provided with diverse benefits.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain complete demographic details and financial information.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and updates patient information in the medical record.
• Performs point of service data collection and processes co-payments.
• Maintains work queues and provides courteous patient service.
• Answers calls, schedules appointments, and refers to clinical team as needed.
• Sanitizes registration equipment and restocks supplies.
• Carrying out other clerical duties as assigned.
