Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker to determine eligibility for programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, and more. The role includes interviewing clients by phone or in person and applying state and federal policy to make informed decisions.

You will complete an 8-week IMSTP training, work in a controlled office setting, and may telework part time with a Pennsylvania-approved location.

Qualifications

Four years of experience in interviewing or work requiring the analysis and interpretation of data.
A bachelor's degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

Eligibility reviews for programs such as financial assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, Nursing Home Care, and Waivers.
Conduct phone and in-person interviews to gather information and understand customer circumstances.
Interpret and apply state and federal regulations to ensure accurate case decisions.
Enter information into automated systems and perform manual calculations for case processing.
Write clear and thorough case comments to record changes and document decisions.
Complete all assigned work within required timeframes and established procedures.
