Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls designer for the Energy & Industrial Group. The hybrid role includes three days in the office and two remote days, focusing on 2D/3D drafting for power plants and large-scale facilities.

You will create wiring diagrams, layouts, and plan drawings while coordinating with designers, engineers, and vendors. You will aid engineers in initial design requirements, visualize components in 3D, and travel as needed

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent technical design experience.
• Six+ years in Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls design, incl. 2D & 3D.
• Advanced drafting with AutoCAD or MicroStation on large industrial facilities.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without a computer.
• Ability to multi-task across projects.

Responsibilities

• Create wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians.
• Produce physical and plan drawings to scale showing installations relative to facilities.
• Work with vendors/contractors to implement design adjustments.
• Assist engineers with initial design requirements.
• Interface with engineering and design teams across disciplines Energy & Industrial facilities.
