Job summary

Amentum is seeking an EC&I Hardware Designer to support the delivery of complex control and automation systems within the nuclear sector. You will design electrical enclosures, control panels, and interfaces, contributing to safe, high-integrity projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.

Join a multidisciplinary team and collaborate across electrical, control, and mechanical disciplines.

Qualifications

Strong experience using AutoCAD for electrical design.
Experience delivering EC&I hardware design within engineering projects.
Experience designing control panels, MCCs, or electrical enclosures.
Knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations and CDM Regulations.
Familiar with BS 7671 Wiring Regs and site inspections.

Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical enclosures, control panels, and interface systems.
Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings and design packages.
Develop and manage: General Assemblies, I/O schedules.
Cable calculations and routing, power load and heat calculations.
Support design reviews, site visits, and engineering assessments.
Work with manufacturing teams to ensure high-standard delivery.
Produce documentation including test specs, installation method statements, and QA records.
