Carrington Mortgage Services in Orange, CA is seeking an Early Stage Collections Specialist I to work on a hybrid schedule. You will counsel borrowers, negotiate payment plans, and review financials to offer suitable alternatives.

You may escalate to Loss Mitigation for complex workouts and support high inbound customer service volumes. The role emphasizes compliance with regulations and first-call resolution, with a base pay of $23.50 per hour plus a monthly incentive bonus; bilingual

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than one year collections experience in a customer service/call center environment and/or loan servicing experience.
• Experience in Banking, Mortgage/Loan Servicing industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsel borrowers on methods for bringing their loan current and/or exploring alternative solutions.
• Contact borrowers early in delinquency (1-59 days) and negotiate payment arrangements.
• Review borrower financial situations and offer additional options as appropriate.
• Provide status on payments and payoff inquiries; verify payment history and servicing details.
• Assist with loan servicing website tasks and respond to inquiries as needed.
• Escalate to licensed Loss Mitigation for workout details when required.
