Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services, part of The Carrington Companies, seeks an experienced Late Stage Collections Specialist II on a hybrid schedule. The role negotiates workouts and modifications, counsels borrowers, and serves as the primary contact for complex cases in a fast-paced call center environment.

The position offers bilingual pay differentials, a $24.50/hour base plus monthly incentives, and requires knowledge of FDCPA and mortgage servicing practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• At least two years in collections, loss mitigation, or single point of contact in a call center.
• Two years’ experience in Banking, Mortgage/Loan Servicing.
• Strong knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
• Strong knowledge of relevant industry software packages.
• Strong verbal communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Explain mortgage loan details and workout/ modification options to borrowers.
• Evaluate borrowers’ ability to pay and collect financial information for first-call resolution.
• Counsel borrowers on alternatives and negotiate payment arrangements.
• Contact borrowers via automated and manual outbound calls to discuss options.
• Provide loan workout, short sale, deed in lieu, or refinancing alternatives as appropriate.
• Serve as single point of contact and escalate complex cases as needed.
• Assist with loan servicing payments and respond to inquiries.
