Job summary

New York Public Radio is seeking a Mid-Level Giving Associate to support the mid-level donor program with donor-facing, administrative, and data support. The role focuses on cultivating, stewarding, and upgrading individual donors making significant annual contributions.

Ideal candidate has 1-2 years in development or customer-facing work, strong systems and follow-through, and a donor-centered mindset. Reports to the Director of Mid-Level Giving and works with the Development Team in a hybrid

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in fundraising, development operations, administration, or a customer-facing role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Comfort working with databases and spreadsheets; Salesforce preferred but not required.
• Experience with email systems and digital communications a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, warm, and donor-centered approach to work.
• Ability to effectively solve problems as issues arise within the scope of work.
• Demonstrated interest in building a career in development or nonprofit management.
• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for donor events.
• Passion for public media and commitment to NYPR's mission.

Responsibilities

• Donor Engagement & Stewardship Support: support donor acknowledgement, be a point of contact for mid-level donors, assist with donor stewardship activities.
• Program & Campaign Support: provide logistical support for campaigns, project manage multi-channel communications, partner on data integrity and segmentation, run basic reports, track expenses, support revenue growth.
• Professional Growth & Learning: develop understanding of mid-level donor strategies, donor communications exposure, contribute ideas to improve systems and processes.
