Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) seeks a Distribution Power Engineer to support electric utility distribution projects, including new connections, system extensions, service upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.

This role combines strong technical expertise with a customer-focused approach, managing multiple projects from initial requirements to construction-ready design while coordinating with utility clients, developers, contractors, and internal teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in electric utility distribution engineering or distribution design.
• Understanding of overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Ability to interpret utility specifications, drawings, maps and site plans.
• Familiarity with distribution equipment and protective devices.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop overhead and underground electric distribution designs for residential, commercial, industrial projects.
• Design new customer service connections, system extensions, relocations, upgrades, and distribution improvements.
• Review load requirements and determine suitable distribution facilities and configurations.
• Perform field investigations and site assessments to support design.
• Prepare construction-ready design packages, drawings, material takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with utility personnel, developers, customers, and contractors to ensure project delivery.
• Apply NESC and regulatory requirements through construction and closeout.
