Job summary

Arizona Public Service Company seeks a Distribution Planning Engineer II/III to deliver technical engineering, design, economic and analytical support for long-range system plans and forecasts. The role involves stakeholder meetings and guiding project teams in capital program development.

The position requires a four-year engineering degree (ABET/IEA/MRA) and is eligible for substitutions with relevant experience; a Master’s degree can substitute for one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related applied science from ABET- or IEA-recognized program.
• Two years of engineering-related work experience.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Five years of engineering-related experience can substitute for two years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical knowledge to ensure reliability and stability of the distribution system.
• Develop feeder and transformer forecasts.
• Lead multi-department meetings to plan capital projects addressing forecasted deficiencies.
• Perform modeling and analysis on distribution circuits using CYME.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends through engagement with research institutes and regulatory bodies.
• Provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
