Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company in Fresno is seeking an Associate Distribution Operations Engineer to support PG&E’s Electric Distribution Control Centers. You will perform engineering analyses including N-1 load at risk analyses and assist with distribution system protection and coordination, while addressing voltage and power-factor issues.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and offers a hybrid work arrangement across PG&E service territory.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or BSEE by December 2026.
ABET-accredited program.
Professional Engineering (PE) license is desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide distribution operations engineering support for PG&E’s Electric Distribution Control Centers.
Perform N-1 distribution load at risk analysis and communicate results to management.
Monitor bank and circuit peak loads and address overloads and power factor issues.
Develop and adjust critical operating equipment settings and protection coordination.
Support distribution line and substation operational problems and regional emergencies.
Update load flow models after switching or reconfiguration and assist with grid projects.
