Pacific Gas and Electric Company in Fresno, California, seeks a journey-level protection engineer to perform routine protection duties with minimal supervision, including relay settings, protection requirements, and relay operation investigations for both transmission and distribution systems. This hybrid role allows work from a remote office and the assigned PG&E service territory.

A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of system protection experience are required;

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited curriculum in the US or the equivalent from outside the US.
• 3 years of cumulative experience in the field of system protection.
• Active California PE license (desired).
• Ability to calculate relay settings for all station automation schemes, transmission line relaying, transformer bank protection, bus protection, generator protection, and breaker failure schemes.

Mansioni

• Provide guidance to peers and lower-level engineers.
• Perform protection duties for transmission voltages 230 kV and below.
• Handle complex projects, such as localized special protection schemes and MPAC.
• Perform protection duties for distribution voltages.
• Develop design standards, new tools and relay schemes.
