Pacific Gas and Electric Company in West Sacramento is seeking an entry-level Associate Protection Engineer to support protection studies and project duties for transmission voltages 230 kV and below, under supervision.

The role is hybrid, allowing remote work and site visits within the PG&E service territory; the ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or is graduating by Dec 2026) and may pursue an EIT certificate, with 0–2 years of engineering experience.

Competenze

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline; or graduating with a BSEE by December 2026 from an accredited US curriculum.
EIT certification is desirable and indicates readiness for professional licensure.

Provide protection engineering support for projects and studies for transmission voltages 230 kV and below.
Issue protection requirements and prepare descriptions of operations for non-standard and localized RAS schemes.
Conduct short circuit studies and calculate short circuit line impedance.
Determine and issue relay and automatic settings; support relay system installations.
Conduct area coordination studies and participate in project walkdowns and meetings.
Provide construction drawing reviews and maintain engineering records and databases.
