Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from ABET accredited institution; additional experience may be considered.
• Background in and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
• Some knowledge of structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations.
• Ability to provide reliable transportation for potential travel.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers; may perform individual design tasks and QC within the group.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using customer GIS and Work Management systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and design leads on client issues, manage scope, schedule, and budget for assigned work.
• Review engineering design packages with clients and perform planning and customer follow-up.
• Analyze scope of work and maintain schedule adherence to support client priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement to workflow processes to ensure high-quality client design deliverables.
• Coordinate conflicting utilities and large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects; handle permits, easements, ROW.
• Occasional field data collection trips and customer-site visits; support in-person meetings as needed.
