Job summary

Swale Borough Council is seeking a content-focused professional to own day-to-day website updates and ensure services are clear for local residents. You will publish across our sites via a content management system, and champion WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.

The role emphasizes plain English, mobile-friendly content, and collaboration to streamline internal processes. This is a full-time, 34-hour-per-week position with a hybrid office/home arrangement.

Qualifications

• Digitally confident communicator with ability to write in plain, active English.
• Experience with modern content management systems and low-code tools.
• Ability to decipher complex information and explain it clearly while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day website content and publish updates across sites using a content management system.
• Champion accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA standards and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate to create mobile-friendly web content and improve internal processes.
• Advocate and help deploy low-code workflows using Power Platform and govServices.
