Visit Detroit seeks a Destination Services Manager to coordinate conventions, conferences and large events in the Metro Detroit area, partnering with clients, planners, and suppliers to deliver exceptional service.

The role requires 5–7 years in event planning/hospitality and strong client-servicing experience, with a focus on coordinating logistics, partnerships, and attendance-building initiatives in a hybrid Detroit setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event planning, or related field, or comparable experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in event planning in meetings/events or hospitality.
• 5–7 years of experience servicing clients in sales or event services.
• Must maintain a qualifying credit history for an AmEx card used for travel and entertainment.
• Extensive knowledge of Metro Detroit tourism assets.
• Valid, unrestricted Michigan driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate conventions, conferences, and large events with planners, clients, and partners.
• Advise meeting professionals on available partner services.
• Lead servicing of accounts with 201 peak room nights.
• Coordinate planning and logistics for Detroit-area events with internal/external teams.
• Develop and update a comprehensive package of customer services for organizers and sponsors.
• Implement strategies to increase conference attendance and region visitation.
• Liaise with partners, hospitality community, and governmental agencies to facilitate events.
• Ensure accurate and timely customer records and fulfill obligations.
