Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Deputy Director for the Healthcare Pathways Programs, based in the Silicon Valley region. This hybrid position oversees a multi-cohort postbaccalaureate and pre-health pathway initiative, including MCAT prep, course development, and clinical mentorship.

Manage enrollment, budgets, and cross-departmental operations. The role requires strategic leadership, grant management, and stakeholder engagement with schools, advisors, and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience leading and administering complex educational programs for diverse audiences.
• Experience managing multi-program operational budgets and procurement lifecycles.
• Proven ability to lead, onboard, and manage performance in inclusive environments.
• Experience working with volunteers and producing outreach materials.
• Grant writing and funder contract experience.
• Proficiency with data tracking systems and KPI reporting.
• Strong skills with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and project management platforms.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication; persuasive presentations.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and daily management of programs.
• Develop long-term strategic plans and standardize workflows to scale programs.
• Monitor operational KPIs, enrollment trends, and program success metrics.
• Oversee end-to-end enrollment and onboarding for post-bacc and high school students.
• Coordinate with school partners, community organizations, and advisory committees.
• Manage contracts, procurement, budgets, and routine reporting to leadership.
