Job summary

University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) Student Health Services seeks an Associate Medical Director to lead quality of care and clinical practice across Primary Care and Same Day Clinics. This on-site role partners with the Medical Director to address staffing, patient care, and clinician satisfaction.

The position requires an MD/DO with California license, board certification, and several years of leadership experience in a college health setting.

Qualifications

• Current MD or DO California medical license in good standing.
• Board Certification in an applicable primary care specialty.
• Minimum 3 years post-residency work experience in primary or urgent care for adults/adolescents.
• Advanced clinical leadership skills and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience leading clinical teams and ensuring quality of care.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical services.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of clinical services management and leadership teams.
• Supervise primary and urgent care clinicians; oversee recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and evaluations.
• Maintain active clinical practice in Primary and/or Same Day Clinics.
• Provide consultation for complex patient cases and address clinic-wide issues.
