Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Deputy Director to provide strategic oversight and executive administration for a rapidly expanding healthcare pathway program. The role spans three postbaccalaureate cohorts, a summer academy, and an IMG residency readiness pathway, with emphasis on enrollment, budgeting, and cross-department coordination.

The incumbent will manage day-to-day operations, design scalable infrastructure, and guide program governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading, developing, and administering complex educational programs for diverse audiences.
• Experience managing multi-program operational budgets and contracts/procurement lifecycles.
• Progressive experience onboarding staff and managing performance in inclusive environments.
• Proven experience working with volunteers and producing outreach materials.
• Proficiency with data tracking systems and reporting for leadership.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations with day-to-day oversight of multiple post-baccalaureate programs and pipelines.
• Oversee enrollment funnels, tuition management, and staff training.
• Coordinate with faculty, schools, and external partners to expand recruitment and program delivery.
• Develop KPIs, monitor enrollment trends, and ensure compliance with policies and funding requirements.
