The role owns security design, Unity Catalog governance, and PII handling for NLQ experiences. Responsibilities include architecture of the data layer, translating AI/BI requirements into models and pipelines, establishing data quality and observability

Qualifications

8+ years in data architecture or data engineering, with 3+ years architecting Databricks solutions in production environments.
Deep expertise with the Databricks Lakehouse platform: Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL, workflows, and medallion architectures.
Ownership of data security and governance design, including Unity Catalog governance models, row/column-level security, and data masking.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of the data layer for prioritized AI use cases on Databricks.
Translate AI/BI requirements into data models, pipelines, and platform patterns on Databricks.
Define data quality, lineage, and observability standards for trusted AI data and NLQ experiences.
Own the platform security design end-to-end, including Unity Catalog governance and access controls.
Collaborate with the Lead AI/BI Engineer and data engineers to align the data layer with semantic models and AI/BI experiences.
