Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Company is seeking a Data Engineer to architect, develop, and manage data pipelines across multiple entities. You will build Bronze/Silver/Gold layers, ensure a single source of truth, and mentor SQL Developers while aligning with governance and security standards.

You will collaborate with BI stakeholders, modernize the data platform for a Google Cloud migration, and apply AI-assisted coding practices to optimize pipeline delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-7+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or database development.
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-ERP environments is a plus.
• Strong hands-on SQL and relational databases; NoSQL knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines moving data from source systems into the governed data platform.
• Develop and maintain data models and Bronze/Silver/Gold schemas to establish a single source of truth.
• Lead the technical build-out of the data platform in support of Google Cloud migration.
• Learn and leverage AI coding tools to optimize pipeline code and accelerate development.
• Engineer governance, validation, and error-handling into pipeline design; monitor data integrity.
• Provide indirect leadership, coaching, and code-review guidance to SQL Developers on the data platform team.
• Partner with DBAs, BI Developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into designs.
• Maintain clear technical documentation of data flows, transformations, and architecture.
• Ensure pipelines adhere to data handling, access control, and security standards across ERP instances.
