Job summary

Jacobs is hiring a Mechanical Construction Technical Services Specialist for a Spartanburg, SC project. The role focuses on resolving technical discrepancies, interpreting drawings, and coordinating with home office and clients. You will work with design-build teams in the field and manage revision control of construction documents.

You will mentor junior staff and engage with authorities having jurisdiction during permitting, ensuring timely responses and compliant field changes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering or 8-10 years in construction management of heavy-industrial facilities.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.

Responsibilities

• Resolve in-progress issues or disputes related to drawings and specifications and expedite responses.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering documents and drawings.
• Engage in permitting with AHJs and coordinate with design-build contractors.
• Ensure revision control for construction drawings and timely information.
• Lead in response to requests for specification deviation and nonconformities NCRs.
• Mentor team members to meet objectives.
