Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
• 4–7 years in mechanical engineering or 8–10 years in construction management of heavy-industrial facilities.
• Basic understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Engage in resolving in-progress issues related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications; expedite response as needed.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering documents and drawings, including change management input.
• Engage in the permitting process with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
• Work with Design-Build contractors as they move to the field.
• Communicate with subcontractors to manage key drawings and revision-controlled documents.
• Ensure revision control is in place for all construction documents.
• Manage timely information related to potential changes in design and installation.
• Support field sketch/redline processes for changes and design revisions.
• Collaborate with Project Controls and Construction on field design revision processes.
• Lead responses to specification deviations in coordination with the project team.
• Work with Field Quality and NCR resolution with Home Office Engineering.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
