Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical Construction Technical Services Specialist for a Corpus Christi, TX data center project. You will lead interpretation of drawings, coordinate with home office engineers, and ensure revision control for construction documents while guiding field teams.

Qualifications

4-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering or 8-10 years in construction management of heavy-industrial facilities including datacenters.
Basic understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
Effective oral and written communication.
Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

Resolve in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to technical drawings and specifications; coordinate with home office/responsible engineer to meet project needs.
Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering documents and drawings; contribute to change management within technical scope.
Engage with AHJs during permitting processes and coordinate with Design-Build contractors in field.
Ensure revision control for construction documents and that contractors have latest revisions.
Support Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering to resolve NCRs.
Mentor and guide junior team members toward objectives.
