Job summary

SHI International Corp. seeks an IT Engineer – Data Center to support enterprise data center infrastructure, operations, and modernization efforts.

The role requires hands-on hardware, virtualization, monitoring, and environmental expertise, reporting to the Somerset, NJ location on a hybrid basis. You will drive planning, documentation, and implement plans across server hardware, cabling, asset management, and vendor coordination to ensure reliability and scalability of SHI's data center

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant work experience.
• CCNA certification required upon hire or within six months.
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise networking environments with DNS, DHCP, and/or IPAM.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale DDI architectures.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, APIs).

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise data center infrastructure across SHI facilities by maintaining server hardware lifecycle processes, rack and row organization, cabling standards, asset accuracy, environmental monitoring, and operational readiness.
• Contribute to data center modernization initiatives and improve monitoring, capacity awareness, and infrastructure supportability.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, networking, facilities, compliance, project management, purchasing, and vendor teams to move projects forward.
• Translate operational requirements into implementation plans, technical documentation, and procedures.
