Job summary

SHI International Corp. is seeking an IT Engineer - Data Center in Somerset, NJ, working on enterprise data center infrastructure, operations, and modernization.

This hands-on role requires troubleshooting, cross-functional coordination, and comprehensive documentation across server hardware, virtualization, power, cabling, and compliance. The position reports to the Somerset, NJ location on a hybrid basis and engages with infrastructure, networking, facilities, and vendor teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Bridge implementation planning with operational requirements for data center systems.
• Maintain server hardware lifecycle processes, rack and row organization, cabling standards, asset accuracy, environmental monitoring, and operational readiness.
• Contribute to data center modernization initiatives involving Data Center Expert, Sunbird, PDU infrastructure, rack inventory, environmental alerting, device licensing, and power visibility.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, networking, facilities, compliance, project management, purchasing, and vendor teams to move infrastructure projects forward.
• Translate requirements into actionable implementation plans, documentation, inspection records, procedures, and process improvements.
• Identify risks and monitoring gaps to inform long‑term solution success.
