Job summary

CoreSite is seeking a Data Center Design & Performance Engineer to design and review electrical, mechanical, and site plans for data centers. The role emphasizes independent decision-making and adherence to design standards, collaborating with facility and operations teams to ensure installations meet CoreSite standards.

The position requires strong knowledge of data center design, experience with electrical/mechanical systems, and the ability to travel up to 40% with on-site work and remote

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 3+ years in data center operations and design.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems for data centers.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Excel; able to analyze test equipment data.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire and life-safety, and BMS design for expansion and upgrade projects.
• Define scope for testing and commissioning to ensure operability.
• Provide final QA sign-off for engineered systems at end of construction.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineering to design custom engineering solutions.
• Support sales process for complex opportunities with technical expertise.
• Assess installed systems to optimize efficiency and reliability.
• Review engineering modifications to existing facilities.
• Provide engineering support to Data Center Operations and maintenance programs.
