Job summary

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Customs Specialist to protect compliance, minimize risk, and ensure smooth customs clearance for customer shipments. You will handle complex exceptions, agency examinations, and high-impact issues while driving operational excellence.

The role emphasizes regulatory expertise, problem solving, and continuous improvement of automated processes within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Bilingual: English and Spanish (written & spoken).
• 2–3 years of entry-writing experience in international transportation or related to AI Agents.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate customs entry data for accuracy and compliance.
• Resolve complex customs exceptions and regulatory concerns.
• Manage government agency holds and examinations (CBP, FDA, CPSC, VACIS, CET, Tailgate).
• Interpret regulations and apply them to daily operations and automated processes.
• Prioritize shipment issues to prevent delays and ensure customer service.
• Collaborate with brokers, carriers, and internal teams for seamless clearance.
• Maintain customer-specific SOPs, HTS databases, and compliance requirements.
