Job summary

Mediacom Communications Corporation is seeking a Customer Retention & Sales Representative I to protect existing customers from downgrades or cancellations and to upsell retention promotions on inbound calls.

The role emphasizes listening to customer needs, educating about Mediacom Mobile offerings, and driving loyalty while meeting retention targets. Training is provided; a hybrid schedule after on-site onboarding is offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years customer service experience required, sales experience preferred.
• Strong consultative selling skills, including active listening, needs discovery, objection handling, and closing.
• Proficiency in typing and electronic communication.

Responsibilities

• Turn reasonable requests for disconnection or downgrade into save opportunities or potential sales.
• Apply Retention Department’s mission to sell Mediacom’s service when possible.
• Actively listen to customer needs and offer appropriate Retention promotion to prevent disconnection or downgrade.
• Use Mediacom resources to sell against the competition and explain competitive edge.
• Educate customers on Mediacom Mobile service and gain sales on inbound calls.
• Build customer loyalty by providing legendary customer service.
• Complete disconnect, transfer and seasonal downgrade orders and update customer accounts.
