Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Containerboard is seeking a Customer Account Manager to provide end-to-end support for domestic customer accounts in Atlanta. The role handles orders, coordinates production demand, manages fulfillment, and ensures delivery requirements are met.

You will partner with sales, manufacturing, transportation, and warehousing to deliver service-focused and cost-effective solutions. The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, with a hybrid work schedule and occasional after-hours support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years relevant work experience.
• Customer account management or supply chain experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating and modifying spreadsheets, using formulas, and analyzing data.
• Ability to manage competing priorities with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for mill and customer visits.

Responsibilities

• Enter a high volume of complex customer purchase orders with attention to detail and track shipments to delivery.
• Build trusted customer relationships and serve as the primary interface for supply chain support.
• Receive and manage orders, changes, and cancellations; communicate updates and delays to customers and sales reps.
• Resolve order fulfillment issues arising in production, transportation, or warehousing.
• Coordinate product shipments, expedite urgent orders, and arrange pickups or returns of defective product when needed.
• Partner with sales and cross-functional teams to implement service and cost solutions.
• Identify root causes, evaluate service and cost tradeoffs, and drive resolution with urgency and sound judgment.
• Maintain accurate customer pricing in GP’s ERP system.
• Manage customer account credits and debits; monitor warehouse inventory levels for shipment readiness.
• Provide occasional after-hours support for urgent customer needs.
