Job summary

General Motors Warren, MI is seeking a Safety Performance Integration Engineer for Structure Performance to advance crash safety across future vehicle programs. You will lead CAE-based evaluations of structure, synthesize test results, and coordinate with global teams to deliver robust safety designs.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 4+ years of LS-DYNA/virtual CAE experience; FMVSS knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical preferred, or related field of study
• 4+ years of experience in virtual CAE and/or physical testing relating to vehicle development
• Knowledge of LS-DYNA; ability to perform CAE simulations

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply GM Safety CAE standard work procedures for delivering quality models and simulation results
• Perform CAE simulations to evaluate crashworthiness for high-speed load cases
• Synthesize results and provide design recommendations to meet safety performance targets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to implement design changes
