Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking a Safety Performance Integration Engineer for Structure Performance within the GPSSC organization. You will develop and validate vehicle crash safety systems for future programs, focusing on crashworthiness of vehicle structures and integration across teams.

You will lead CAE simulations, balance safety requirements, and translate results into design changes. This role involves occasional travel and a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical preferred, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in virtual CAE, CAE design, or physical testing for vehicle development.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently with others.
• Strong analytical ability to solve complex systems and problems.
• Knowledge of statistical and optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Apply GM CAE standard work procedures to deliver quality models and results.
• Lead vehicle design using CAE to meet safety performance targets.
• Evaluate crashworthiness for frontal, side, rear loads with LS-DYNA.
• Provide design recommendations based on CAE and test results.
• Collaborate with functions, teams, suppliers, and manufacturing.
• Use DOE/DFSS/MDO methods to optimize structural designs.
• Support physical safety tests at Milford, interpret results, and resolve issues.
