Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of demonstrated proficiency with CAE or related engineering experience (DRE, validation, lab).
• Knowledge of engineering theory and its automotive applications.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt quickly.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• High level of analytical ability to solve challenging problems.
• Knowledge of statistical and optimization tools and techniques.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply GM Safety CAE standard work procedures for delivering quality models and simulation results.
• Perform CAE simulations to evaluate structural performance or PCEI for high-speed impact load cases using LS-DYNA.
• Lead vehicle design decisions by generating feasible recommendations to meet safety and other performance targets.
• Collaborate with engineering functions, program teams, suppliers and manufacturing to implement design changes.
• Use advanced CAE tools (Variation Study/DOE/DFSS/MDO) to optimize performance.
• Plan, prepare, execute and analyze post-test results; communicate results to cross-functional teams.
• Work with global teams and present performance status at forums.
