Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain PLC/SCADA-based control systems for industrial operations in Paarl. You will work with automation hardware and software, optimize processes, troubleshoot on-site and with remote engineers, and ensure reliable, safe operation.
You should hold a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, with at least 4 years of experience, proficiency with Siemens or Allen‑Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and strong teamwork
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting industrial control systems.
- Proficiency with major PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of industrial networks, instrumentation, and process control principles.
- Ability to perform on-site diagnostics and maintenance, with flexibility for travel.
Responsibilities
- Design and configure PLCs and HMIs for various industrial applications.
- Develop and implement advanced process control strategies to optimize production efficiency and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems, instrumentation, and automation hardware on-site.
- Collaborate with process engineers to define control system requirements and specifications.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and provide ongoing technical support.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, and functional design specifications.
