Job summary
Placements24 in partnership with a Paarl-based manufacturing client seeks an Automation and Control Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes through design, development, and deployment of automated control solutions. You will work with production and engineering teams to implement systems that improve efficiency and product quality.
The role requires hands-on PLC and HMI/SCADA experience, strong electrical schematic skills, and a knack for troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with hands-on automation exposure.
- 3–5 years of industrial automation experience and control system engineering.
- Proficiency with PLC programming and familiar with HMI/SCADA tools.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission automated control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics and control panel designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to integrate automation solutions.
- Identify process improvements for efficiency gains and safety compliance.
