Job summary

Zurich North America seeks an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter – Construction PL to join our Specialties Construction team. This hybrid role can be based in any Zurich office in the South or Western regions.

The hiring manager will place you at the appropriate level based on experience and qualifications. You will handle complex Construction PL accounts, serve as a subject matter expert, and collaborate with brokers to grow the book of business in the US.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years underwriting/market facing experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Knowledge of line of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, laws and rating rules.
• Collaborate with Line of Business on referrals and needs.
• May guide lower level associates.
• Develop relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) to support retention and growth.
• Support sales by assisting agents, brokers and customers.
• Proactively pursue renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete opportunity assessments with distributors to identify growth.
• Qualify accounts to match appetite with opportunity.
• Make broker/customer on-site calls with prepared purpose.
