GFT is seeking a Construction Inspector III for its North Carolina offices in a hybrid role, requiring regular in-person presence. You will lead inspections, verify conformity to plans, and maintain documentation while communicating with clients and contractors.

Ideal candidates bring 8–12 years in construction inspection, highway/transport projects, and strong written and verbal communication. A safety-first mindset and leadership ability are valued.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of construction inspection experience.
• Experience in highway projects and transportation engineering.
• Strong writing, listening and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Measure distances to verify dimensions of structural installations.
• Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
• Observe work to ensure procedures and materials meet specs.
• Prepare samples for laboratory testing.
• Examine workmanship and approve installations.
• Interpret plans and discuss deviations to ensure compliance.
• Record materials and develop pay estimates and change orders.
• Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities.
• Monitor multiple work activities (not simultaneously).
• Maintain construction safety practices and document control.
• Manage documents using AASHTOWare, e-Builder, or Transport.
