GFT is seeking a Sr. Construction Inspector to join our Construction Services team in North Carolina.

This hybrid role requires regular attendance at one of our NC offices and will serve as a daily point of contact with clients and contractors, overseeing construction observations, material testing and documentation. Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive experience in transportation engineering and inspection of bridge and/or highway structures on state NCDOT, municipal, and/or multimodal projects.
• ACI Field and/or NCDOT certification are recommended, but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Measure distances to verify dimensions of structural installations.
• Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
• Observe work to ensure procedures and materials conform to specifications.
• Prepare samples for laboratory testing.
• Examine workmanship and approve installations.
• Interpret plans and discuss deviations to ensure compliance with regulations.
