Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory invites applicants to join the Computing Spring Graduate Internship Program for 2027. These internships run January 4, 2027 through May 28, 2027 and target students who earned a bachelor's degree and will enroll in a graduate program by Fall 2027.

Interns will gain hands-on research experience and support projects in computational science, cyber defense, computer science, numerical methods, mathematics, and related STEM fields.

Qualifications

• Must be a continuing college student pursuing a graduate degree by Fall 2027 in STEM fields.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher required.
• NDAA eligibility and LLNL access requirements apply.
• Experience in computational science or related areas is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and/or research support to projects in computational science, cyber defense, CS, numerical methods, math and related STEM fields.
• Support documentation, testing, and development of Laboratory software/hardware/OS.
• Conduct research under limited direction and supervision.
• Perform basic to moderate technical assignments and assist scientists on R&D projects.
• Attend relevant seminars at least weekly and present work via talks or posters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
