Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to access the Laboratory under NDAA Section 3112.
• In good academic standing, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Fall 2027 at an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, or related STEM fields.
• Proven ability to adapt and thrive in challenging situations with resilience and problem-solving.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills.
• Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Age 18 or older at the start of the internship.
• Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and/or research support to projects in areas such as computational science, cyber defense, computer science, numerical methods, mathematics, and related STEM fields, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and technical staff.
• Develop skills with tools such as Git, Bash, Python, and others relevant to the research area.
• Gather and analyze data and information in support of scientific research.
• Participate in research planning and evaluation discussion.
• Attend relevant seminars (at least one per week).
• Participate in end-of-summer poster presentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
