Job summary

Empower Associates, LLC in Boston is seeking a mid-level litigation associate (4+ years) to join its complex business litigation group. The role offers hands-on guidance from seasoned colleagues, challenging matters, and opportunities to deepen courtroom experience and grow a book of work.

Based in the firm’s Boston office, the schedule is hybrid: in the office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with remote on Wednesday and Friday.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of litigation experience, including courtroom experience.
• Active Massachusetts bar license in good standing.
• Familiar with subpoenas, pleadings, and motion practice, and comfortable arguing motions without extensive supervision.
• Strong analytical, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth legal research (using Lexis), draft discovery, manage the discovery process closely, and take depositions
• Review documents, prepare witnesses for deposition, and organize exhibits on large commercial matters
• Draft and oppose motions, and argue motions in court
• Prepare cases for trial
• Represent clients at conferences
