Job summary

Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County seeks a Community Engagement Manager in Silver Spring, MD to lead the Resident Services team, drive program development, and foster partnerships supporting Cradle-to-Career and Whole Family initiatives.

The role oversees staff, programs, and budgets, reporting to the Vice President of Resident Services. A Master’s degree and 10+ years in Social Services with 5+ in leadership are required. Hybrid work is offered after probation.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in Social Work, Social Services, Human Services, or related field.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction to staff within the Community Engagement team; oversee day-to-day operations; supervise four full-time staff.
• Co-develop program guidelines, procedures, and policies for staff.
• Coach and mentor team members to grow their skills and ensure ongoing training.
• Represent HOC at meetings, events and partner engagements.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement strategy aligning with Cradle-to-Career Model and Whole Family approach.
• Oversee key programs such as YES, AEWD, and FIP and manage annual large-scale resident events.
• Cultivate and maintain partnerships with non-profit, for-profit, and government organizations.
