Job summary

The ACLU of Louisiana is seeking a highly organized Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator to support and expand engagement with pro bono attorneys, volunteers, and community members in New Orleans. The role focuses on logistics, program coordination, and building systems for sustainable volunteer engagement across legal and advocacy work.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and project management abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with attorneys, volunteers, community members, and partners.
• Experience coordinating volunteers or community engagement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage volunteer engagement across multiple programs.
• Serve as primary logistical point of contact for pro bono volunteers and law firms.
• Develop systems for tracking volunteers, cases, assignments, and clinic participation.
• Plan and host public teach-ins and community education initiatives.
• Support logistics for detention facility tours and legislative advocacy events.
• Collaborate across departments to align volunteer efforts with organizational priorities.
