Job summary

Northwest Bank is seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager to monitor the bank's commercial loan portfolio, ensuring accurate risk ratings and policy compliance. This individual contributor role collaborates with Relationship Managers and Credit Risk teams, with construction loan experience being desirable.

The position is onsite Monday through Thursday, with Fridays optional remote work in a hybrid arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline preferred.
• Experience in Commercial Lending as a Portfolio Manager, Relationship Manager and/or Credit Officer/Underwriter preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to monitor and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Credit risk analysis including assessment of financial statements, collateral valuation, industry review, and risk rating assignments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor credit performance of individual commercial borrowers and escalate or remediate as needed.
• Ensure timely reporting of portfolio monitoring activities and adherence to credit policies and thresholds.
• Engage with customers to discuss operating performance and covenant compliance.
• Collect and review financial information, prepare analyses, and determine need for additional information.
• Spread financial statements and build models to assess default risk and loss given default; document cash flows and covenants.
• Analyze information to provide independent credit quality assessments and risk ratings.
• Assist in annual reviews, renewals, and collateral reviews; monitor early warning indicators.
• Present analysis in credit discussions and coordinate approvals across teams.
