Job summary

Northwest Bank in the United States is seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager to monitor the bank's commercial loan portfolio and ensure timely risk ratings and compliance with credit policy and regulations.

The role supports Relationship Managers and internal teams, with construction loan experience desirable and a scope for advancement to Portfolio Manager II or III based on knowledge and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline preferred.
• Experience in Commercial Credit or public accounting preferred.
• Ability to perform financial analysis, assess risk, review documentation, coordinate loan closings and administer construction loans.
• Strong analytical, organizational and critical thinking skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to monitor and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, Extensive credit risk analysis including assessment of financial statements, collateral valuation, industry review, and risk rating assignments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor credit performance of commercial borrowers ensuring timely escalation or remediation.
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of portfolio monitoring reports and adherence to credit policies and thresholds.
• Engage with customers to discuss operating performance and covenant compliance.
• Collect and review financial information and determine need for additional information.
• Spread financial statements and prepare models to assess default probability and loss given default.
• Analyze financial information to ensure prudent ongoing credit monitoring of the portfolio.
• Assist in annual reviews, renewals, interim memos, and covenant calculations.
• Present analyses during credit discussions or presentations.
• Liaise with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Underwriting, and Special Assets for approvals and data accuracy.
