Job summary

Northwest Bank is seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager to oversee ongoing credit portfolio monitoring for the bank's commercial loans. The role focuses on risk ratings, covenant testing, collateral valuation, and timely reporting, working with Relationship Managers and Credit Risk teams.

Ideal candidates will have construction loan experience and strong financial analysis skills, with onsite work Monday-Thursday and a remote day on Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline preferred.
• Relevant experience in Commercial Lending as Portfolio Manager, Relationship Manager and/or Credit Officer/Underwriter working with moderate to complex loans and documentation preferred.
• Experience in Commercial Credit or public accounting preferred.
• Ability to perform financial analysis, assess risk, review documentation, coordinate loan closings and administer construction loans.

Responsibilities

• Monitor credit performance of individual commercial borrowers ensuring timely escalation or remediation.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of the commercial portfolio monitoring activities and adherence to credit policies and thresholds.
• Engage with customers to discuss operating performance and covenant compliance, understanding borrowers’ business models.
• Spread financial statements and prepare models to assess default risk and loss given default.
• Analyze financial information to ensure prudent ongoing credit monitoring and risk rating justification.
• Assist in annual reviews, renewals, and covenant calculations; monitor early warning indicators.
• Present analysis during credit discussions and ensure proper documentation in loan systems.
• Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Underwriting Team and Special Assets for approvals.
• Document key risk indicators and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Navigate Microsoft Office and department-specific software to maximize efficiency.
